Dental Laboratory Registration Requirements Update
Effective January 31, 2025
Effective January 31, 2025, the Department of Health implemented new registration requirements for all dental laboratories operating in Washington State:
Any New application submitted on or after January 31, 2025, must comply with the following:
Employ a Certified Dental Technician (CDT) in good standing with the National Board and who works at least 30 hours per week at the applying dental lab, or;
Operate under the supervision of a licensed Dentist.
All Active and Existing registrations, before January 31, 2025, will be required to provide proof with their July 31, 2025, renewal that they:
Meet the requirements of RCW 352.050 (2)(a), or;
Provide documentation of continuous ownership and operation by the same individual since January 1, 1996.
RCW 70.352.050 outlines the full requirements for dental laboratory registration, including:
Initial eligibility criteria established January 31, 2021;
Updated requirements effective January 31, 2025;
Exemptions for long-term owners;
Requirements for maintaining qualified personnel.

To find registered dental labs:
Visit the Facility Search Page.
Under Facility Type, select Dental Laboratory Registration.
Enter any additional information (such as city or ZIP code) to refine your search or simply click Search to see a full list.
WASHINGTON STATE DENTAL LAB REGISTRATION INFORMATION
It is now the law that all dental labs that do business in the State of WA register with the Department of Health (DOH).
Washington State DOH requested that all dental labs register by January 31, 2021.
If you have not registered your dental laboratory with DOH, please do so now! If you send in the application AFTER January 31, 2021, you will also need to send in your 12 hours CE or your CDT certificate with the application.
